APPRENTICES ARE THE FUTURE

Big congratulations go to two members of the team who have just completed their apprenticeships and been awarded an NVQ Level 2 in Business Administration. Sarah Reid, the company’s Sales and Lettings Administrator and Ciaran Lea, Property Management Consultant, were presented with their NVQ awards after studying part time for a year. The pair completed regular coursework with monthly one-to-ones with their tutor and a number of exams throughout their apprenticeship. The course was designed to work flexibly between the company and their tutor, with most of the coursework completed at work.

Sarah, who has been at NSW Properties for 20 months says, “Doing the NVQ in Business Administration has enabled me to understand how a business works and to think more about business needs and my role in the business’s success. Dealing with everyday situations whilst studying for the NVQ really helped me as it was a good source of advice and guidance if I was ever in a situation I was unsure about.”

Sarah continues, “NSW is a growing and innovative company and I hope to grow my experience and skills with the business. During the apprenticeship I have had amazing experience working in each department of NSW and I’m so pleased to be a part of the company and watch it grow.”
Ciaran who has been at the company for 14 months says, “The NVQ in business administration has helped understand the in’s and out’s of how a business works on a daily basis. I have been able to learn and develop my skills whilst getting first hand experience of the job and adapt to the job role by implementing the skills that I have been learning through the apprenticeship scheme.”
He continues, “I hope that the company keeps expanding, enabling me to grow and expand my knowledge alongside it. I enjoy being able to learn the different sectors of the business and it helps my knowledge and understanding of the company and the industry. I hope to continue working here at NSW Properties for the foreseeable future and hope that one day I can become a manager, helping others to develop and grow into the company.”
