House prices rose 5.34% in the Ormskirk area in the year ending in March according to data from property website Rightmove. The average asking price in the local area at the end of last year stood at £243,545. This is slightly more than the 5% increase experts predicted nationally last year.

House prices rose 5.34% in the Ormskirk area in the year ending in March according to data from property website Rightmove. The average asking price in the local area at the end of last year stood at £243,545. This is slightly more than the 5% increase experts predicted nationally last year.

NSW Properties are also predicting that house prices are expected to soar further this year after the Bank of England implied the first interest rate rise may not happen before 2017. It means that mortgage rates are also likely to remain low, making borrowing cheaper for prospective homebuyers

Rachael Carragher, Sales Negotiator says, “Not only are prices increasing but our own figures show that since the New Year, our properties have sold for on average 97.5% of the asking price which is also great news for sellers.”

The advice to buyers is act quickly so you don’t miss out on your dream home; properties under the £300k mark are moving very quickly with many securing sales within 48 hours of advertising and close to the asking price. And our advice to sellers is if you’re just thinking about moving, don’t hesitate, do it now. It’s a perfect time to get your property on the market.
