Over the past few years the team here at NSW Properties have made regular efforts to raise money for a range of worthy causes. This year we were approached by the family of Charley-Weston Smart and we were so touched by his story that we decided we simply had to help in any way we could.

When Charley was born doctors said he would never walk or talk and that he would be blind and deaf. Whilst he does have very partial sight and can walk very short distances with some assistance he still doesn't have the functions that most of us take for granted on a daily basis.
In an effort to try and improve his condition his family are looking to send him to California for pioneering stem-cell treatment. However, this treatment is extremely expensive, costing £25,000.00 which his family are looking to raise.
We set ourselves a fundraising target of £1000.00 and to raise the money we decided to undertake a sponsored walk up Mount Snowdon. On the day of the walk the weather was glorious and we set off from Llanberis at the foot of the mountain, progress was initially slow to start with and the temptation to jump on the train that also climbs the mountain was inviting. However, the pace of our team soon quickened with rumours that the café at the summit sold alcohol!
After a few hours of arduous walking we reached the top! It turned out the rumours of alcohol were indeed true and we sunk a beer (or two!) making our descent slightly less painful than it may otherwise have been!
We finally got back to the cars in Llanberis proud of what we’d achieved in aid of such a worthy cause.
Not to be outdone by his staff members, our Director, Neil, decided to shave his head in a bid to help us raise even more money.
We’re delighted to say that, at the time of writing, we have exceeded our target and have raised £1080.00. We’d like to send out a massive thank you for everybody who has been kind enough to donate.
